The Nepalese Strikers have failed to deliver in past three matches and this is not the problem just for now. The Striking crisis has been a long term problem for Nepalese Football. With an average age of 27, the Nepalese strikers have failed to find the back of the net in two recent friendly matches.

Here is a list of five strikers that I think can sort out the goals drought in Nepalese Football.

Bharat Shah(NPC) – The 19 years old kid might have been an unknown name a season back but he has worked hard enough to make himself Police Club regular. With Police Club struggling in the front line, the youngster did well to take charge up ahead for the cops this season. Bharat Shah scored six goals for Nepal Police Club this season with some cracking finishes in the league. Although he has not developed well enough for National team, a couple of years in hard work could pay off Shah as he has age on his bargain.

Deepak Rai (MMC) – The 26 years old striker was good to watch during his time at Machhindra. He was at a limelight after he joined Manang Marsyangdi Club a season back. Deepak has now and then proved his consistency with the club scoring in different occasions for MMC as a result of which he was called for National Team in India Friendly. Although Nepal lost 2-0 to India, Deepak was one of the impressive men in the field. He was also handed another cap in Yemen Friendly as he replaced Raju Tamang just before the end of the first half.

Deepak Rai with strong physical presence could well dribble the ball past his oppositions, but if he is to make the position , he must play up front in domestic League as well. He currently plays as wide men for Manang with Anil Gurung and Yona Elias preferred at the top.

Ashim Jung Karki – The former NRT man has reached at his peak after he joined Boys Union Club. With his long rangers and free kicks in the Ncell cup 2070, Ashim managed himself as the mvp of the tournament. Although he failed to impress in the league, the 19 years old striker was the only goal scorer for Nepal in AFC U19 qualifiers.

Ashim has already made his debut with Nepal National team and with age on his side, he could long serve the nation.

Sujal Shrestha – Sujal started his career as a striker but now plays in various positions at his club.He normally plays in either flank and also played as a left back in handfull of matches when his club needed him.  He and Nirajan Malla led the attacking line for Sankata in the league couple of seasons ago and then he earned his move to Manang. He also played as a forward in all of his youth level matches in International Arena.  He also got called up for the national team and played as a striker in 5-0 hammering of East Timor in World Cup Qualifiers. He has scored important goals for Manang and can score more if played up front. He could be another choice who has his age on his hand and can serve the country for long time.

Bimal Gharti Magar – No doubt Bimal has been the talk of the town since he has been firing goals for Nepal, either it be in U16 matches, SAFF championship against Pakistan or friendly matches against the local side. Bimal at his young age has collected considerable experience playing for the U16 team, scoring for the senior side, having appeared in a trial at FC Twente and Anderlecht. The 16 years old jewel is powerful with his preferred left foot and could score with his right foot.

Bimal scored four goals alone against a local friendly match playing for FC Twente during his trial with the club that was one of the notable thing that suggests Bimal could not just flourish in Nepal but he also can meet the international level given that he concentrates fully in the game.

Anjan Bista – The U16 striker might have been in the shadows, however this man has some caliber. Anjan Bistan has put up himself as regular starter and found himself in the score sheet quite often for Nepal U16 team. The U16 striker has notched two goals in three matches in AFC U16 qualifiers for Nepal scoring against Bahrain and Iraq, both considered tough opponents.
