Mourinho: Zlatan is free to leave

Manchester United would not remain in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s way if he wishes to join a club in the United States before the end of the season.

However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has not asked to leave Manchester United amid hypothesis linking him with a mid-season move to MLS. “I only know what I have read in the media,” Mourinho said. “Zlatan has never mentioned this possibility to me but he is in the last year of his contract and, if he wants to move to another club or another country, we will try to help him. We will not make his life difficult.”

“But I repeat the only thing Zlatan told – or the last thing Zlatan told me – was that he wants to recover totally and feel ready to help the team. That’s the last thing I heard from him.”
