Shaw, who only passed his test a year ago, reversed his £100,000 car into his team-mate’s.
The embarrassing shunt happened at the Premier League club’s Carrington training base after a 2-0 win away at Swansea. Shaw, 22, out of favor with manager Jose Mourinho, played just three minutes in the Carabao Cup fixture.
A source said: “Luke’s concentration slipped and he clattered into Jones’s car. He can afford the repair bill and there are no hard feelings. Nothing seems to be going poor Luke’s way.”
Shaw, 22, became the most expensive teenager in the world when he left Southampton for United in a £30million deal three years ago. However, his career has stuttered after breaking his leg in his second season.
