Ings faces injury scare

Liverpool’s injury-plagued Danny Ings was replaced 36 minutes into the U23s game against Manchester City on Sunday.

Ings was complaining of discomfort prior to being removed as a precautious measure by U23s manager Neil Critchley.

The 25-year-old was replaced by Yan Dhanda, who went on to score the champion in Liverpool’s 1-0 Premier League 2 competition at Prenton Park,

“It’s more a precaution than anything,” he told Liverpoolfc.com. “He felt something very early in the game and he wasn’t quite right, so we’re not taking any chances with Danny and there are plenty of first-team games to come.

“We’ll just look after him and assess him, but I’m sure he’ll be fine.”
