Arsenal have reportedly approached West Brom over signing Jonny Evans, who is set to be the subject of a £30million transfer bid from Manchester City later today.
The 29-year-old defender could be a surprise solution to the Gunners’ woes at the back so far this season, after they shipped four goals against Liverpool on Sunday.
City have also been strongly linked with the former Manchester United man at points this summer, while West Brom also recently rejected an offer from Leicester City.
Still, the Daily Telegraph now claim Arsenal have made an enquiry to the Baggies over Evans’ availability as they also look set to sell Shkodran Mustafi to Inter Milan.
Evans has shone during his time with West Brom and has been linked with Arsenal in the past, with Arsene Wenger perhaps rating the Northern Ireland international more highly than Mustafi as the German prepares to leave after just one season at the Emirates Stadium.
