Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo wins Ballon d’Or 2017, fifth time , which equals the record with Barcelona star man Lionel Messi.
Messi stands second, while Neymar ended third in the contest. Ronaldo scored 42 times all competition last season for Real Madrid and helped them Champions League and lift first La Liga championship since 2012.
Ronaldo was in great shape in 2016 as he played a pivotal role in Portugal’s Euro2016 winning campaign.
With victories in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014 and now, Ronaldo wins the prestigious award for the fifth time, equalling to Argentina Lionel Messi.
The Ballon D’or was called Fifa Ballon D’or for six years before FIFA took themselves out of the award back in September 2016. The award is provided by votes from 1 hundred and 73 journalists from around the world.
