Liverpool plan to table a club record £75million bid for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar today as the Reds hold fresh talks with the Ligue 1 champions. Jurgen Klopp has stepped up his interest in Lemar since the Reds booked their place into the Champions League group stages.

The 22-year-old has been linked with Arsenal throughout the summer but Arsene Wenger claimed a move for the Frenchman was ‘dead’ last week. However, Monaco have sold off a number of their key assets this summer and it looks increasingly like Lemar could leave in the next 48 hours.

Monaco turned down Liverpool’s opening offer of £65million but the Liverpool Echo claim the Reds will increase their bid up to £75m. Arsenal will be fully aware of Liverpool’s negotiations and Monaco could spark a bidding war by opening Lemar up to a move to the Emirates.
