After guiding the Red Devils to the trophy in May, the Manchester United star Paul Pogba has been awarded with Europa League player of the year.
The 24-year-old scored in United’s 2-0 win against Ajax in Stockholm and scored a brace in their group stage win against Fenerbahce. Their win against the Dutch giants netted United a place in the Champions League and grouped with Basle, Benfica and CSKA Moscow in yesterday’s draw.
He has scored in both of United’s opening two league fixtures and refining his form this season. In recognition of his efforts in last season’s competition, the France international was awarded UEFA’s inaugural Europa League player of the year today in Monaco.
