Coutinho hands transfer request

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho hands in transfer request to the club few hours after the club owner issued an statement which claim that they would not allow the Brazilian to leave this summer.

The Brazilian midfielder emailed transfer request directly to the sporting director, Michael Edwards, in response to the statement issued by the owners.

The Statement read, “We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho “.

“The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.”
