Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has picked up a thigh injury in a 3-0 victory against Bayern Munich in Audi Cup.
The English International picked up an injury 7 minutes prior to full time when he chipped over the keeper to make it 3-0 for Liverpool. Goals from Sadio Mane and Mohommed Salah earlier provided two goals lead to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The English striker had come up in 67th minute and scored utilizing the ball from Ben Woodburn. However new signing Solanke replaced him after he scored.
Speaking about the injury, the Liverpool boos Jurgen Klopp said, “I can’t say. He hurt his thigh. He has prepared really well. I just hope he can play really soon.
“The goal was great and he had a chance just before that. You could see how fast he is. It’s a shame and I hope it’s nothing serious.”
Meanwhile Sturridge himself told the official Liverpool website that it could just be fatuque and he believes he will be back in action sooner than expected.
