Naresh Joshi holds the record as he is first and only hat trick scorer for Nepal in SAFF Championship. He scored 3 goals in Nepal’s 3-2 victory against Sri Lanka which helped Nepal to proceed to the semifinal in SAFF 1999 played at India.

When we asked to share about the moment, he said there was nothing to share. The condition was not good at that time.

“Nothing special happened, I score Hat Trick, we lost in semis, we returned back to the country, stayed at lodge in bhotebahal and returned home the very next day. ” , former National team striker explained the moment to givemegoal.com

Naresh Joshi played three years for National team and his club career included clubs like Three Star Club, Friends club and RCT.

When asked if he feels like playing for National team again, he said he would love to but the environment in Nepali Football was not good. He also said that he wants to visit Nepal to support the team in SAFF Championship 2013 but his schedule does not not favor him.

Naresh Joshi is only hat trick scorer for Nepal in SAFF Championship while he is among one of the only four players who had scored hat trick for Nepal in all time.
