Bangladesh’s victory sends Sri Lanka home as India and Bangladesh make their way to next round of the tournament.
SriLanka remained silent in most of the occasion in the first half while they started early in attack. Mohamed Farood’s early shot was saved by goalkeeper Rahaman.
Bangladesh were active in attack but they lacked final attack until Bangladesh captain found the breakthrough for his team. Tultul Hosain Badsha scored directly from free kick as goalkeeper got the hand on the ball but could not stop it enter the net.
Sri Lanka got back to the game as SS Niresh fired a long ranger to get back in the game in 44th minute of the game, just before the end of first half.
Bangladesh’s attack in second half came in ninth minute of second half. Torikul Islam was left unmarked but his fine right footed shot was denied by fingertip save from SriLankan goalkeeper.
Bangladesh got ahead in 57th minute as Mohammad Shaun Hossain’s free kick found Md. TulTul Hosain as he made his double with great jump followed by header.
Bangladesh confirmed their victory and their place to next round as Torikul Islam’s great run was followed by cool finish as the match ended 3-1.
Bangladesh will face India two days later which will decide the winners of Group A.
