David Silva picked up an injury early in the match in the recent match against Newcastle United. Manchester City lost the league cup tie 2-0 and it is rumored Silva will be out for at least three weeks. Frank Lampard is yet to recover from the injury he picked up against Tttenam in the league few weeks ago. Yaya Toure also picked up a knock in defeat to Newcastle and he will undergo a late fitness test to see if he gets a place in starting lineup.

Manuel Pellegrini says…“I don’t use any kind of excuses. I just win titles. I am happy to be the favourites. Both teams have the same obligation to win. But if you tell me we are favourites, not a problem.”
