England defeat Portugal 2-1 in the final to win 2017 U19 European Championship in Georgia. Manchester City striker Lucas Nmecha scored the winner to seal the tournament for three lions.

Aston Villa man Easah Suliman took the lead for England before Chelsea’s Dujon Sterling made an own goal to provide Portugal the equalizer six minutes later.

However Mecha rectified Sterling’s error to confirm England’s victory. England were down to 10 minutes nine minutes from the final whistle as midfielder Tayo Edun was shown yellow card for the second time in the game. But the Three Lions were able to keep hold on their lead.

It is the youth side’s third title in two months as they were able to claim the U20 World cup and Toulon Tournament in June. The title on this tournament comes 24 years later.
