Barcelona needs to pay Paulinho Release Clause

Barcelona are in process to bring 28 years old midfielder to Nou Camp from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande, however they only have two options at the moment if they want to sign the Brazilian.

The Spanish giants either just pay the 40 million euros to trigger Paulinho’s release clause or they have to wait until January transfer window to sign Paulinho.

The transfer window in China has closed and the clubs could only sell the players but could not buy one. So Guangzhou Evergrande may not sell Paulinho without being able to bring his replacement. This is the reason why Barcelona needs to wait until January to buy him.

Alternatively Barcelona could pay 40 million euros release club which will compel the club to sell the player, however the player needs to agree the deal.
