Real Madrid extend their unbeated  run to 38 games as they gasp a 3-0 victory against Sevilla in the first leg of the round of 16 in Copa del Rey. Raphael Varana scores a goal while James Rodriguez scores twice in Zidane’s anniversary as the Real Madrid boss.

James Rodriguez put Real Madrid forward in 11th minute of the game as his strike from the 20 yards box found the back of the net. The lead was doubled in half hour in the game as Raphael Varane converted Kroos’ ball through a corner placing a solider header to put Madrid ahead.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence means James Rodriguez was allowed to convert through a spot kick just before the end of the first half to make it 3-0 to the winning side. Madrid were awarded spot kick when Mariano bundled with Luka Modric in his own box.

Although the first half saw three goals, all to the home team’s side, neither team were able to score as Madrid possessed an easy 3 goals home lead in their first leg, putting one step forward in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
