Feyenoord’s Eredivisie lead will remain at five focuses over the mid-season break after Ajax and PSV played out an attract Amsterdam.

Ajax

Ajax and PSV lost ground in the Eredivisie title race as their 1-1 draw at the Amsterdam Arena left Feyenoord with a five-point advantage at the summit.

Pioneers Feynoord are searching for their first group title since 1998-99 and secured a 3-1 triumph over Vitesse Arnhem at De Kuip on Saturday.

Neither Ajax nor PSV could keep pace with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side in their last matches before the mid-season break.

Ajax lost Anwar El Ghazi and Kasper Dolberg to damage in the primary half yet led the pack three minutes after the restart when Davy Klaassen slice over the ball to lash home a fine strike from 20 yards.

In any case, Siem de Jong denied his previous club the three focuses, cutting down Gaston Pereiro’s dazzling ball over the top and managing a complete past Andre Onana to win PSV a share of the riches.
