Liverpool defeats Chelsea

In the first fixture of fifth round of the Premier league Liverpool FC defeats Chelsea FC in Stamford Bridge. This was the first time these two teams meet in first in Premier league match and the second meeting between these two coaches. 

Although the visiting side was with their fully fit side the host were without their captain John Terry and Ivanovic was given a armband. Resigned David Luiz was introduced in starting XI for the first time. Cesc Febregas was not in the starting for yet another match.

Liverpool started scoring early as Lovern scored in the 17th minute of the match and Captain Henderson doubled the tally in 36th minute. The only goal from Chelsea came from inform Diego Costa. The match ended as 2-1.
