Sunderland have finished the signings of Manchester United pair Paddy McNair and Donald Love for a set charge of £5.5 million.

The defence pair penned four-year contracts at the Stadium of Light to rejoin with past United boss David Moyes, who succeeded Sam Allardyce as official in July.

“Sunderland AFC have finished the twofold checking of Paddy McNair and Donald Love from Manchester United for an expense of £5.5 million,” the club confirmed in statement.

“The versatile 21-year-olds have both put pen-to-paper on four-year deals and watch the opportunity to be David Moyes’ second and third signings as Sunderland power.”

Moyes told the club’s site: “Paddy is a youthful, athletic player who is updating determinedly. He has experience for Northern Ireland and we need to go on the best number of general players to the club as we can.

“Donald comes exceedingly supported and is another lively player who I trust can make and overhaul here.

“I need to add some scorching players to the squad and some senior players and them two have better than anything ordinary potential and the chance to make progress.

“I need to get players who are here for the entire game-plan other than the short and ideally these two are here for the long haul.”
