Riyad Mahrez becomes the first African player to win PFA player of the year. He scored goal for 17 times in premier league and assist for 11 times for Leicester City to keep the foxes on the top of the table.

Mahrez, 25, held off contention from Tottenham forward Harry Kane, Munititions stockpile midfielder Mesut Ozil, West Ham Joined midfielder Dimitri Payet and related Leicester men Jamie Vardy and N’Golo Kante to win the award.

Mahrez was given the prize at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on Sunday, hours in the wake of scoring in his side’s 4-0 win over Swansea City as pioneers Leicester moved to inside five motivations behind the title.

“Without my associates I wouldn’t get this reward,” Mahrez, who joined Leicester from French second-level side Le Havre in January 2014, said.

“Likewise, for my boss and the staff – without them I wouldn’t get this reward and I wouldn’t score. It’s the collaboration, and I have to give it to them.

While Tottenham Dele Alli prized the Football league young player of the year. Dele Alli netted 10 times in premier league to challenge league table leader Leicester.
