After deadly attacks in Paris during the match between Germany and France, the security in Wembley for friendly between England and France have been tightened up.

Fraqnce Friendly Preparations

Before the match, both the skipper and coach spoke about the match. Head Coach Didier Deschaps said that the team had to send a message, and this was the best way to do so.

‘After such an atrocity, such a barbaric act, we are here, but we know why we are here. It’s hard to talk about the atrocities in Paris, but we’re very aware and thinking an awful lot of the victims, their immediate family and their friends. I’m grateful for the messages of support we’ve had from around the world and this game will be played in front of the English public — thank you for your show of support and solidarity. It will be a match full of emotion, I am sure. That is the role we have to play. We are here, the players and the staff, to represent our country at a particularly poignant moment, and are proud to be French. It’s not just this group of players, but the whole of France. We’re probably even more proud of our country than we’ve ever been after November 13.’

France’s skipper Hugo Lloris who plys trade for English side Tottenham said the team is behind the decision of the federation.

‘The president made the best decision, I think, to play this game. Of course we are human and we had doubts, whether to play or not, to go home or stay together, but I think it was well managed by the coach and the technical staff. The last three days were a bit dramatic. We were in mourning all together, we spent some time at Clairefontaine (at the national football academy). We will try to escape from it for one hour and 30 minutes. There will be a lot of emotion from the players, but it will be a great moment of solidarity. It will be an opportunity for us to show character and share this moment with all the English people.’
