It seemed just a formality to announce Pedro as Manchester united with all the speculations over the summer. But all the hopes of Pedro playing for Manchester club has been dashed as Chelsea have had their bid accepted for the midfielder and will undergo medical in few days. Pedro scored the winner in UEFA Super Cup last week but was denied of starting berth in both the legs of Spanish Super Cup ad the club lost 5-1 on aggregate with 4-0 loss in the first leg away from home.

The departure of Pedro to Chelsea means Van Gaal will go into the market with top priority in striking position. Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez are the only fit first team strikers and the later is linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent years. Pedro will be third signing for Chelsea this season after Asmir Begovic and Radamel Falcao were signed early on.
