These teams have played each other in Champions League Quarter Final tie three seasons ago, where Spurs lost out by 5-0 in two legged match. The first leg in Spain ended 4-0 to Madrid while the away match saw Ronaldo score the winner in 50th minute after Heurhello Gomes’ howler.
Real Madrid have been involved in International friendlies in recent times while Spurs lost out to MLS All Stars by 2-1 in a match played at Denver. Harry Kane scored for Spurs as David Villa and Kaka drove the All Star team home.
Team News:
Gareth Bale and Luka Modric will face their former team for the first time after moving to Spain from White Hart Lane. Rafa Benitez is ecpected to field his first choice squad for the match as there is no injury concerns in the team.
Tottenham will be without skipper Hugo Lloris but will have their new signings available to play. Harry Kane will be hoping to continue the run of form from pre-season to Premier League as well.
