Czech International Tomas Kalas has signed a new contract to extend his stay with the Premier League champions for further three years.

Despite being loaned out to various clubs, Kalas has opted to sign a new deal citing better days to come in future with the club. Kalas was signed on loan by Middlesborough earlier this window and is expected to spend a full season in the Championship side. Kalas also spent half season on loan in Boro and has previously played for FC Cologne in Germany and Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands.

The 22-year old defender debuted in the famous 2-0 victory against Liverpool a season ago, famous for Steven Gerrard’s slip to let Demba Ba take away the title from under Liverpool’s grasp. Like Tomas Kalas, Patrick Bamford has also signed a contract extension and will join Premier League outfit Crystal Palace on a season long loan. The defender will stay at Chelsea until 2018.
