Toby Aldeweireld to complete transfer to Tottenham Hotspur from Atletico Madrid

Belgian International and former Saints defender Toby Alderweireld is set to join Tottenham Hotspur from Atletico Madrid.

Former Saints and Belgian International defender Toby Alderweireld will be join Tottenham Hotspur on a deal said to be around 15 million pounds. The lanky central defender is said to have agreed personal terms with Spurs and the clubs have also agreed on a fee. The 26 year old defender spent a season with Southampton and is interested in returning to the league but join London club Tottenham.

Despite his old club were in the race to sign the defender, Toby made choice not to rejoin the St. Mary’s. Ateltico have opted to sell for highest bidder, in form of Tottenham after Saints activated clause in loan deal which means they will receive few amount of transfer. He will be joining Belgium internationals Nacer Chadli, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele in White Hart Lane.
