Tottenham Hotspur and Hamburg have reached on an agreement to make Holtby’s loan move a permanent one.

Lewis Holtby makes permanent transfer to Hamburg from Tottenham Hotspur

Former Schalke midfielder Lewis Holtby has joined Hamburg on a permanent move. Tottenham Hotspur have released a statement stating the move being permanent. Spurs Official website says that:

“The midfielder joined the Bundesliga side on a one-year loan in September, 2014, with a view to a permanent transfer.
This option has now been exercised and Lewis leaves us having made 41 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals, following his arrival from Schalke 04 in 2013.
We wish Lewis all the best for the future.”

Holtby played a great role in Hamburg’s successive stay in Bundesliga despite needing to play playoffs with loew league outfit. However, Hamburg have already released former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael Van Der Vaart and the dutch midfielder will join Spanish outfit Real Betis for next season. Van Der Vaart spent two seasons in Hamburg after leaving White Hart Lane.
