Jasper Cillesen is set to sign for Manchester United as Ajax accept 15 million pounds transfer deal with English Club.

Manchester United closing in on a transfer of Dutch International goalkeeper Jasper Cillesen

Manchester United are preparing themselves for life beyond De Gea’s departure with signing of Jasper Cillesen from Ajax. Cillesen has made 21 appearances for Dutch International team and has already played under Louis Van Gaal in the national team. Cillesen is set to become second signing for the United side under Van Gaal this summer. The first signing was Cillesen’s dutch teammate Memphis Depay who also joined from Eredivese side.

Manchester United are aiming for a better finish this season in the league and will be looking for a longer Champions League journey. Van Gaal has already started transfer deals and will be looking for more ahead of the start of the season. Speaking on the transfer activity, assistant manager Ryan Giggs was optimist.

“If there are players available who are winners, who are proven then, yeah, let’s go and get them,” he told the Sunday Times.

“On holiday I was still on the phone to Albert about players coming in and players for the new season.

“With any good team, the spine is important. Midfield, striker, centre-backs, goalkeeper. I’m sure we’ll be looking to strengthen the spine all the way through.”
