Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has played top matches, but this one will be special of the lot as he prepares to face best player of the era, Lionel Messi in the UEFA Champions League final.

Gianluigi Buffon preparing toughest test of his career as Juventus face Messi inspired Barcelona in Champions League final

Gianluigi Buffon signed for Juventus in 2001, from Parma on a record deal of 23 million pounds which is a large amount of fee for a goalkeeper and to add up the fee was paid years ago. 14 years on, that investment looks well made as Juve are on course to register first treble in their history. Juventus won the Italian League with a large margin and defeated Lazio in the final of Coppa Italia to complete the domestic double. Buffon will be eyeing for the first ever treble in the Italian history as Juve faces Barcelona tomorrow.

However, the dreams might get shattered as Lionel Messi is in the opposing team. Buffon has already said Messi is the top player to ever play the game and their team is not far from being the best. Juve too have been playing better football in recent season and will be aiming to finish the season on a high.
