With Premier League title won with handsome points tally, Mourinho has already urged his players to prepare for the title defense, but will he add up some reinforcements in the current roster?

Chelsea transfer roundup - Will Jose Mourinho go for Pogba?

When Jose Mourinho took over Chelsea from the then interim manager Rafa Benitez, the squad was not set and it took a year for Mourinho to sort it out. He sold Rafa’s top player Juan Mata to rivals Manchester United and brought back John Terry, who was hardly given consecutive playing time by Rafa to lead the team and on the way creating a record as well. Terry became first skipper to play each and every minute of a Premier League winning team.

Jose Mourinho brought in Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas in the summer transfer window and the impact made by these players was huge on the way of title. Eden Hazard grabbed all the headlines winning all the personal accolades but as a team Mourinho was the mastermind and used tactics well. With just three losses throughout the season, his defensive tactics did not fail as well.

Chelsea’s lineup this season was one of the most used one and with just 25 players used throughout the season out of which only 19 made over 10 apps, there are concerns over the squad strength which Mourinho will be looking to sort out. Mourinho will be looking to strengthen central midfield as much has been dependent upon Nemanja Matic and on his absence, Chelsea has struggled a lot. All top clubs around Europe have their eyes set on Paul Pogba and Mourinho might want to make the player his own as he fits his style of play.

Juventus are adamant on not letting the player go, but a tempting offer might persuade them to make the move go through. With Oscar going out of the scene with the season’s progress, Jose might use him as a bait in order to secure the deal. In case the deal goes through, Chelsea will need to keep up the form in order to mount yet another title challenge.
