Louis Van Gaal is set to discuss about the possibility of signing a right back this window as the dutch manager looks to strengthen his squad.

Manchester United determined to sign a right back in January as Coleman and Clyne considered as primary targets

Louis Van Gaal has been very active in the transfer market since his appointment last summer. He has already spent about 150 million pounds and looks to add some more to that spending spree as he eyes some signings in this transfer window. Manchester United have been very inconsistent in defensive third this season and they look to add some players in that part of the squad.

With center defence being a top priority, Manchester United are also aiming for a right back after poor performance from Rafael and Valencia not fitting in well in his role. Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton and Seamus Coleman from Everton are said to be top targets for the Manchester based team. However, both the players are one of the top assets and United will have to spend a lot to get the services.

Coleman was signed for mere sixty thousand pounds by Everton and have been playing brilliantly under Roberto Martinez. The Irish defender joined from Sligo Rovers five years ago and went on loan to Blackpool couple of season ago. Coleman came into rise after Roberto Martinez took over and is regarded as one of the best attacking full back in premier league. It is rumored that Manchester United will soon make a formal bid to Everton believed to be around 20 million pounds.

In case of failure to sign the Irish defender, Nathaniel Clyne looks to be a good option. Clyne has been a long term United target and also came close to signing him a couple of years ago when the defender left Crystal Palace. The 23-year old joined Southampton then and has flourished under both his managers since then. Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman both used him well and he has made his name in the premier league as one of the best young English talents.
