Roy Hodgson’s injury ravaged England team travel to Italy to play Antonio Conte’s team.

Injury prone England prepare for Conte's young Italian side

Harry Kane

After departure of four key players from the squad, the English squad is getting thinner with the time. Left back Leighton Baines, Liverpool’s winger Raheem Sterling and Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck all started the World Cup qualifier match against Lithuania but have stayed back in England along with Manchester City workhorse James Milner due to injuries in training. They slight knocks will be assessed by their respective clubs.

After the only leftback in the team was sent home, Hodgson has called Kieran Gibbs and Ryan Bertrand and the former is set to start the game after a good season with Arsenal. However, the talk of the game will be focused on debutant Harry Kane who is assured of a starting spot by the manager after departure of Danny Welbeck. Ross Barkley is expected to start alongside Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane in the attack.
