One week before the final of Capital One Cup, there was no certainity over inclusion of Kurt Zouma in the lineup. He was performing well when given the chance to play but still he was behind Gary Cahill in the pecking order. After Nemanja Matic was sent off, there were possibility of Gary Cahill being included in the squad as a defensive midfielder, the role he has played in his boyhood. But Jose did not think so and played Zouma in the role to mark Eriksen and Kane and the french youngster executed it to the perfection. Out of the 17 appearances he made this season for Chelsea, this was one of the best and they went on to win the cup.

Mourinho was full of praise for the defender and tipped him to emulate John Terry and lead the club one day. Just 20 years old, he is already a strong contender for regular starter in the center half position and could also be called up for International team as the friendlies near.
