Lukasz Piszczek out for six weeks after suffering a challenge from Paul Pogba

Lukasz Piszczek suffered a mistimed tackle from Paul Pogba in recent Champions league fixture between the sides and the injury now will rule out of the match action for six weeks at least. Piszczek recently returned from injury and missed much of the starting part of this season. The injury has been identified as syndesmotic ankle sprain.

The same injury was sustained by BVB midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan last term and he had to stay away from action for six weeks as well. The injury means Dortmund will not have services of Polish international and Sokratis will likely play as a cover in right back of Kevin Grosskreutz will be called upon. Dortmund look to be back on track in the league after faltering start to the league which saw them rooted to the bottom until new year.
