Women’s SAFF 2014 – Nepal suffer final woes

India defeated Nepal by 6-0 to win the Third edition of SAFF Championship held in Pakistan.

The Nepal National Women’s team goes down 6-0 to India in the final of the third edition of the Women’s SAFF Championship as Nepal is deprived of title for the third time, all in the hands of India in the final. Nepal reached to the finals after they saw off Bangladesh 1-0 while India thrashed Sri Lanka by 5-0 in semifinals.

Nepal that suffered 3-1 defeat to India in 2010, 1-0 in 2012 suffered a 6-0 defeat in the 2014 edition. Bala Devi scored four times while Kamala Devi and Ramidevi Ashem scored a piece in a huge victory for the three times champions India.
India scored 35 goals in the tournament this edition, out of which Bala Devi got 20.
