Nepal Sports Journalist Forum today honored Veteran Journalist P Kharel  with NSJF Sports Journalist Award during 11th Annual General Assembly  held in Naxal.

Nepal Sports Journalists Forum marked its 19th anniversary today in a program held at Hotel Crown Plaza, Naxal where Veteran Journalist P Kharel was honored with NSJF Sports Journalist Award. Nepal Sports Council Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama, Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) vice-president Anita Bindu and NSJF President Ajay Phuyal jointly presented the award to Kharel along with Rs.10,000.

NSJF, the umbrella body of Nepali sports journalists, started to felicitate a senior sports journalist with the award since two years. Senior Sports Journalist Pushkar Lal Shrestha was honored with the award last year, while former sports journalist Shyam Chitrakar was honored in 2069.

The 11th Annual General Assembly of Forum also passed the annual report prepared by the General Secretary and the Treasurer. The assembly also congratulated secretary of NSJF, Prakash Timalsina for being elected as a member from associate category in FNJ. The meeting also included discussions and future movements of the forum for the betterment of Sports Journalism and upliftment of quality of Sports Journalism by conducting various trainings, in and outside the valley.

The meeting also discussed about the importance of NSJF’s biggest programme and country’s biggest sports award ceremony, Pulsar Sports Award in Nepalese Sports field. The introduction of Library in the forum was also discussed and will soon be established.
