Three Second half goals confirms Nepal’s defeat to Philippines National Football team despite of an improved performance and continuous efforts on goal.

Coach Jack Stefanowski fielded a team with Bimal Gharti Magar and Bharat Khawas up front and the impact was visible in the field. The striking duo coped up well creating a goal scoring chance for Bimal Gharti Magar in 23rd minute, however the 17 year old striker’s shot was blocked in a form of opponent’s sliding challenge.

Nepal escaped couple of first half threats and also failed to take the lead just before the end of first half when Bhola Silwal’s free kick was a victim of a fingertips save from the Philippine goalkeeper that saw the score tied up at the end of the first half.

 

Philippines got ahead quite early in the second half when Samuel bisected his shots between goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong’s leg as the ball found the back of the net in 49th minute.

Jagjeet Shrestha was shown his way in 65th minute of the game.

With a goal advantage, Philippines enjoyed a numerical advantage as well when Jagjeet Shrestha was showed his way directly in 65th minute for an aggressive move against the protest against a foul on Bimal Gharti Magar.

Only five minutes after  the blow, Nepal got close to an equalizer when a counter moved initiated by Bharat Khawas found Rabin who dropped a ball to advancing Anjan Bista, Anjan’s back heel saw over the bar instead of the net that left more than 10,000 Nepalese supporters shattered.

Nepal made few more attacks when Rajin Dhimal who replaced Bimal Gharti Magar in 72nd minute missed another golden chance as his shot from 14 yards was placed directly to opponent goalkeeper.

The moment turned even worse for the fans when Nepal conceded two goals withing two minutes of allocated extra time. Phil Younghusband converted a penalty first before Harman made the score 3-0 in a controversial goal that escaped offisde in the official’s eyes.

With Philippines’ Clean Sheet, Nepal go six matches without scoring a goal started by a 1-0 semifinal defeat to Afghanistan in the South Asian Football championship back in Kathmandu.
