Governor’s Gold Cup Sikkim – Three Star Face Extra Time Knock

Defending Champions Three Star club go down to hosts Sikkim FA as an extra time own goal from Bijay Dhimal remains the only goal of the game.

An own goal from Bijay Dhimal in 100th minute of the game sees Three Star cup out of the Sikkim Governor’s gold cup as they go 1-0 down to the host side after 120 minutes of football.

The regulation time of the game remained goal less, although the young Three Star side were better both in attack and ball possessions. Three Star missed couple of goal scoring chances with the notable miss coming from Bharat Shah on loan from Nepal Police Club. The miss came on 33rd minute when Saroj Dahal’s lofted ball could bisect the defenders, however Shah failed to find the target.

Three Star could have gotten ahead in 79th minute as Amar Dangol who came on for Kamal Shrestha made a good turn on Bharat Shah’s ball, followed by a shot which went inches over the cross bar.

With the victory, Sikkim FA advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.

Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi club will play their first match of the tournament on Thursday.
