Although the body announced holdup fortnight ahead, the decision has not been put into action until now.

The meeting of the PAC held at Singhadurbar on September 28, 2014 decided to direct Thapa against working as the president of the football governing body as there could be possibility of tampering with the evidence if he continued to serve in the post.

Ganesh Thapa has been accused of financial irregularities worth Rs 581.7 million.

“We have suspected involvement of President Ganesh Thapa, treasurer Birat Jung Shahi , General Secretary Dhirendra Pradhan and construction supervisor Lalit Krishna Shrestha to be involved in financial irregularities and we demand their temporary suspension”, Janardhan Sharma of PAC was quoted in Setopati.com.

“Acting President should be nominated as there is nothing like international interference on corruption investigations. “, he continued.

Nepalese Footballers, Referees and coaches on Sunday submitted a memorandum to Nepal Sports council General secretary Yubraj Lama requesting PAC and Nepal government not to carry out the investigation in a way that could hurt Nepalese football. They requested to eliminate suspension orders, however the request was unnoticed as PAC instructs the suspension to come into action within three days.
