Nepal conclude their Asian Game 2014 football matches without scoring a single goal as Nepal U23 goes 4-0 down to Japan in their final match of the group stage.

After a 4-0 defeat to Iraq in the opening match and getting 5-0 down to Kuwait in the second, Nepal conclude the tournament without a goal as Jack Stefanowski’s side goes 4-0 down to 2010 winners Japan in the final match.

Japan took 33 minutes to find their first goal in the match after a dominating display asĀ Gakuto Notsuda’s shot from 22 yards found the crossbar to enter the net.

Nepal could have got behind a minute later and ended their goals drought, however Rohit Chand’s final shot in a free kick delivered from Jagjeet Shrestha went just away from the target. Nepal conceded only a single goal in the first half as Bikesh Kuthu made some notable save in the first half and throughout the game.

Substitute Naka Jimi found an early goal in the second half as his 53rd minute striker was a clinical one to beat Bikesh to double the lead for Japan.

Suzuki found two quick goals in 63 and 70 minutes to make the final score 4-0 which was enough for the 2010 champions to mark their place in the second round despite a defeat to Iraq previously in the group match.
