Apollon Limassol are hosting the match against the Swiss side FC Zurich to play their opening match in the UEFA Europa League from the Group A. Apollon Limassol and FC Zurich are grouped with Villarreal and Borussia Mönchengladbach in this group. This group stage round is starting from today and will end on December 11th 2014.

FC Zurich were qualified into this final round of the tournament after defeating Spartak Trnava 4-2 on aggregate on play off round and they were directly entered in the  play off round being the champion of Swiss Cup 2014 where they defeated Football Club Basel 2-0 in the finals.

Host Apollon Limassol are boosted with the 1-0 win over A. Nepa in their domestic league in their last fixture. Apollon have registered a 5-2 win over Lokomotiv Moscow in last play off round which is  the final round of qualification. They entered in the play off round being the 2nd runner up in the Cypriot First Division.

In their last six fixtures, Apollon Limassol have registered a win in the only three matches and they held on draw in the remaining one match while Football Club Zurich are in the good form as they are undefeated in their all of the last six fixtures where they have won the four matches with two draws in the hand.
