Women National League begins: Nepal Police and Central DR register win

Western Union Women National League started from today in Chitwan. In the Opening Ceremony attended by AFC Vice-President and ANFA President Ganesh Thapa along with different Eight teams are taking part in the league with five teams of respective Development Regions and Three Departmental teams, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Tribhuwan Army.

The winner of the league will receive Rs. 2 Lakhs while the runners up will receive Rs. 1 Lakh. Best players in five categories(Forward, Midfielder, Goalkeeper, Defender and Coach) will each receive Rs. 25,000.

In the first match held today, Nepal Police won the match by 6-0. Niru Thapa scored hat-trick for the winning team as she scored all goal in 18 second half minutes. She scored goals in 50th, 56th and 68th minute of the match. Rupa Magar, Sapana Thebe and Rina Gubhaju each score a goal each.

In the second match held today, Central DR defeated Eastern DR by 2-1 after a quick comeback goals. Kabita Sundas put Eastern DR in front with a goal in 22nd minute but two goals in two minutes from Central DR put them behind. Nirmala Kushwar scored in 61st minute while Nirmala KC scored a minute later to hand her team all three points.
