Post 4-1 defeat to North Korea that ended Nepal’s journey in the tournament, assistant coach Sunil Shrestha said that Nepal had a poor first half that remained the decisive one for them.

“The first 20 minutes was a nightmare for us, the players were not even set in the field before they conceded the first goal of the match”, Shrestha said in a post match conference.

“Korea were too quick for our players, they could not carry on the momentum like they did against Uzbekistan and Kuwait.”, he continued.

“Winning to a top team like Kuwait and holding defending champions to a draw was a great achievement for Nepal”, he added.

Beside he also said that Nepal’s second half performance remained better one, but the first half was enough to knock out Nepal’s hope to make it to the quarter finals.

Meanwhile Korean coach Kim Wi Song praised Nepal’s performance and believed the team combination was key for the men in the blues.
