Bishal-Rai

Former Machhindra FC man Bishal Rai scored two times for Jhapa ensuring their place in the semifinal of the tournament.

The AFC President’s cup 2014 finalist Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi club goes 2-1 down to Jhapa XI, courtesy to two goals from former Machhindra FC attacker Bishal Rai.

Watch How Bishal Rai scored his first goal.

MMC started  with the first attack in the game when Nirajan Malla missed an early opportunity missing out on 4th minute half volley which went off the target.

The early minutes saw couple of action in the game including a 14th minute solo effort from Bishal Rai that found the net for an early equalizer for Jhapa which remained the only separation between the two teams.

MMC coach Nabin Neupane was quite worried about the President cup as he made few early substitutions changing Anil Gurung just ahead of the first half whistle and  bringing off Sagar Thapa after the first half whistle. Captain Sagar Thapa had a minor groin injury as per Neupane.

The second half had an improved display from MMC as they were superior in the first few minutes. Their desperate moves for equalizer got the result when Deepak Rai’s shot was good enough to get the left corner beating goalkeeper Dinesh Thapa Magar.

The joy remained short lived as MMC conceded 14 minutes later in 68th minute where Bishal Rai was hero for the second time in the game in front of Jhapali supporters who remained superb chanting and cheering for their fellow players.

The victory guided Jhapa to the semifinals of the tournament where they will need to worry about their center half man Hem Gurung who dislocated his shoulder and was forced out of play in 53rd minute replaced by Gyan Bahadur Magar.
