Tottenham are through into the group stages of UEFA Europa League after beating AEL Limassol 5-1 on aggregate.

Tottenham 3-0 AEL Limassol: Spurs advance to group stages of UEFA Europa League

Tottenham won the first leg against Limassol 2-1 away from home and then today won the home match by 3-0 to qualify for the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.

Harry Kane missed the early penalty for Tottenham after Kyle Naughton was brought down inside the box and the goalkeeper carried a nose injury which forced the visiting team to make an early substitution. Harry Kane and Tottenham created several chances throughout the first half but had to wait late on to take on the lead after Paulinho intercepted a missed pass from defender and alid it on Harry Kane’s path who finished it past the hapless goalkeeper.

The second half was not a different to the first one as Tottenham kept on pressing the game and eventually got their reward as Paulinho doubled the lead after a high pressing play from Chiriches whose tackle just ahead of the box gave Paulinho a chance to take on the shot. Townsend then trebled Tottenham’s lead after Naughton’s lofted ball was handled by a defender inside the box and Andros shot the penalty low into his right which goalkeeper dived the other way.

In the first leg, Tottenham won the game 2-1 after conceding an early goal in the first half. Erik Lamela came on as a subtitute in second half to change the match to Spurs’ side. Erik lamela provided couple of assists to Roberto Soldado for the equlizer and Harry Kane for the winner.
