Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) won the Friendly Futsal Tournament organized by UNFPA on the occasion of International Youth Day in Baluwatar today.

FNJ wins Friendly Futsal Tournament Orgainzed by UNFPA

Federation of Nepalese Journalists won Friendly Futsal Tournament in Baluwatar organized by UNFPA. The tournament was organized to mark the occasion of International Youth Day. There were eight teams participating in the tournament and the tournament was held in Knockout basis.

FNJ won the first match by 5-4 after a spirited second half comeback where they turned thee match from 4-1 down to scoring four goals in second half. They progressed into the semi-finals to play YPA Nepal, where they won the closely contested match by 4-3. Adarsh Dhakal and Subas Humagain scored two-a-piece for the winning team.

The final match was between the organizers Mental Health Network and Federation of Nepalese Journalists, which ended 5-1 in favor of the Journalists. The winning team was awarded medals and certificate by Secretary of Ministry of Youth. Subas Humagain scored nine goals for the winning team while Adarsh Dhakal scored four goals and skipper Anil Bogati scored one for the winning team.

Anil Bogati of Kantipur FM, Anil Ghimire of The Himalyan Times, Adarsh Dhakal of The Kathmandu Post, Anjan Khadka of The Rising Nepal, Raju Ghising of Kantipur, Prakash Timlasina of Nagarik and Subas Humagain of GiveMeGoal.com were the squad members while Sarita Shrestha of Avenues was the Team Manger in FJN squad.
