Lille qualified for this stage after finishing third in the french league behind Paris Saint Germain and AS Monaco in the league table. Grashoppers Zurich finished second in the Swiss League behind FC Basel and hence they booked their place in this round of qualifers.

The winner of this round will further advance into the next round to play final qualifying tie.
