Brazilian Left Back Filipe Luis has completed his transfer from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea.

Chelsea complete Filipe Luis transfer from Atletico Madrid

Filipe Luis, Atletico Madrid left back who was left out by Scolari for Brazilian squad in the World Cup has completed his transfer from Ateltico Madrid to Chelsea in a rumored £20m move. He has four caps for the national team and made La Liga team fo the year ahead of his National Team compatriot Marcelo.

Luis will now replace Ashley Cole in west london who departed to ROma on a two year deal after the club did not hand the Englishmen a contract. He has already signed the contract and moved to Italy for this season.

A statement on Atlético’s website said: “Atlético Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement to transfer the rights of Filipe Luís, pending a medical with the English club. The Brazilian player had told our club at the end of the campaign his willingness to join the London side.”

The Chelsea website confirmed with a statement, “Chelsea can confirm an agreement has been reached with Atlético Madrid for the transfer of Filipe Luís,”

The 28 year old will join Mourinho’s squad in few days as they look to vi for the Premier League title with new recruits and loaned back players. Mourinho has bought Luis’ team-mate Diego Costa and Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas before completing deal for the left back.
