MMC Defeats Svay Rieng in President’s Cup Opener

Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi club defeats Cambodian league winners Svay Rieng 6-3 in the opening match of their second participation in the AFC President’s cup.

With a victory and three goals advantage in their first match of the three-team group matches, MMC are now favorites to at least enter the next round of the tournament.

Deepak Rai who scored twice for newly appointed Nabin Neupane’s team opened the score in the game taking his team ahead in 6^th minute. Anil Gurung doubled while Aziz Saheed tripled before Veasna could drop down the deficit to 3-1 at the end of the first half.

Deepak Rai, Sulav Maskey and Nirajan Malla scored a goal each in the second half to make it six for Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi Club while the final score remained 6-3.

MMC will now take on the host side Erchim FC in their last match of the group C on March 5, four days later.
