Anil Gurung was nominated as the Ncell 2070 best player as he remains the fan favorite with great votes.

Speaking in the award ceremony, he thanked fans, coaches and journalists who voted him.
“As a small kid, I wanted to play Football and play for the National team. Today I won this award and I am happy. I would like to thank coaches, journalists and fans for voting me”, he said.
“ANFA has done lot to the players. Today players get apartment, cars, we must appreciate that. That is motivating to us and all other players”, he praised ANFA.
Anil Gurung also spoke about the recent controversy in ANFA and said that everyone should unite for the betterment of Nepalese Football.
“I have heard about the recent controversy and read things at media, however I feel that’s not the best way. We should speak together and sort that rather than to take it in bigger way. These kinds of dissatisfaction within a family are not good for players and for the youngsters who will be playing football in future”, Anil Said.
The MMC striker had super season scoring two goals in SAFF championship 2013 and receiving one man of the match in the tournament.
