Afghanistan confirms it three points with second half action as they come from behind to win the match.

Afghanistan are into Semifinals while Sri Lanka are knocked off.

Afghanistan had the early go in the match as twelve minute shot from Sanjar Ahmadi could not find them the lead on a beautiful ball from the Afghanistan midfielder Arash’s ball against well organized Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka looked totally organized as compared to their 10-0 defeat against Maldives in the first match. They gathered some shots and the 36 minute counter attack gave them the lead. Mohamed Nazrullah Fazaluzzaman scored on a counter move as he was confident to chip the ball over Afghan keeper to get the lead which kept them motivated to stop Afghanistan at the end of first half ,although the question remained could they hold on .

The second half had all the say from Afghanistan story as they came past one goal deficit to take two goals lead at the end of the match. The equalizer came on inspiring corner from Mohammad Rafi whose corner was directly drifted into the net. The goal came after Sri Lanka keeper did well to dive to his left to save Belal Arezou’s penalty which turned of no use later in the game.

With more on attacking after the equalizing goal, Sri Lanka always had the probability to concede a goal which was confirmed as  the second Afghanistan goal came from Haroon Fakhruddin who made a powerful shot just from outside the ball that was well enough to beat Sri Lanka keeper Perera.

Losing their lead, conceding a trail, Sri Lanka moved more on attack which was the reason for their their third goal when Hashmatullah Barakzai found a long cut in counter as Afghanistan confirmed their another three point in the tournament.

With the win, Afghanistan are at the top of group with six points with Maldives left to play Bhutan and are the first team to enter the semifinal of tournament while Sri Lanka are first to get knocked off the event.
